I am Anil David, Founder and Business Development Director of Agape Connecting People. My life is a story of redemption and second chances. After being released from prison at the age of 42, I was bankrupt, had only a secondary education and had to rebuild my life from the ground up. Through faith, perseverance and the support of people who believed in me, I founded Agape in 2014. Today, Agape is a Singapore social enterprise and professional BPO group generating millions in annual revenue, employing approximately 200 people and expanding overseas. We established and operate a 100-seat contact centre within Changi Women’s Prison, creating real employment, training and workplace experience for female inmates as they prepare for successful reintegration into society. Agape has impacted more than 3,000 lives, including inmates, ex-offenders, single mothers, persons with disabilities and other marginalised individuals. Our work has received national and regional recognition, including Singaporean of the Year recognition and nomination for the ASEAN Inclusive Business Award 2025. We are now expanding our impact into caregiving by training and employing caregivers to support Singapore’s ageing population, including seniors approaching the final stages of life. This creates dignified careers for caregivers while providing companionship, practical assistance and compassionate care to seniors and their families. My mission is to demonstrate that failure is not the end and that a successful business can also be a powerful force for redemption, inclusion and social transformation.
