Abacus Wealth Partners excels in attracting and retaining employees who value its mission to expand what’s possible with money and effect change in the financial services industry to create and serve a more diverse and equitable profession and client base. Abacus fosters a supportive work environment through deeply ingrained core values emphasizing service, deep listening, and intentional communication, creating a culture of respect and inclusion.
The firm celebrates individuality and diversity, encouraging employees to discover and share their unique talents. Many of Abacus' initiatives, including their Women & Money group and DEI Committee, were founded by employees, and benefits, such as our industry leading parental leave policy, were pioneered by employees.
Comprehensive support systems, including unlimited paid time off, comprehensive health coverage, paid parental leave, and financial support for professional certifications, ensure that employees are well-supported. Abacus promotes a healthy work-life balance with dog-friendly offices, free snacks, team lunches, and flexible working locations across the U.S.
Abacus’ commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in its diverse workforce and initiatives like the Women & Money and LGBTQ+ & Money programs, as well as its DEI Committee. This dedication extends to social and environmental impact efforts, aligning employees with the firm’s mission to make a positive impact on clients' lives.
When hiring, Abacus looks for culture adds rather than culture fits, striving to build a welcoming and supportive culture for people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. The partnership with the BLX Internship program provides paid internship opportunities for aspiring Black and Latinx financial planners, with Abacus having hosted 10 interns to date, three of whom joined the team full-time. Abacus also donates $12,000 annually to the program and has helped raise an additional $10,000 from other sponsors.
The Abacus Wealth Partners Scholarship for Increased Diversity In Financial Planning furthers this commitment by providing financial assistance to underrepresented students pursuing CFP® certification. This $100,000 scholarship offers up to $5,000 per student for completing an undergraduate-level or certificate-level CFP® Board Registered Program, with 16 scholarships to be awarded over the next four years. This initiative aims to cultivate new careers in financial planning, offering long-term benefits to diverse communities.
These comprehensive benefits, values-driven culture, and commitment to diversity and inclusion ensure that employees are not only attracted to but also thrive at Abacus Wealth Partners.
